Communion
Communion
1 Corinthians 11 NLT 24b On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.
On Christmas Day we are encouraging you to take communion in your home to remember why Jesus came to earth and what that means for us. This is a simple and powerful act of gratitude and remembrance.
Here are some ideas on how to lead communion in your home:
- Read 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 out loud
- Take a moment to remember the Cross and how Jesus body was broken and blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins and so we can be at peace with God
- Express your gratitude to Jesus for who He is and the good things He has done in your life
- Take the cup and the bread with thanksgiving
Numbers 6 NIV 24 “‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’
